Tranco was specifically designed by academic researchers to combine several underlying ranking providers and resist manipulation of any one list, which single-source popularity rankings are documented to be vulnerable to.
Does not appearing in Tranco mean a domain is untrustworthy?
No. Most domains on the web, including many entirely legitimate ones, aren't popular enough to appear in any top-sites ranking -- absence here is common and only a very weak signal, used purely as context.
Does a high Tranco rank offset a security finding elsewhere?
No. Popularity signals are grouped separately and weighted lightly (5%) specifically so they can't meaningfully offset a confirmed malware, phishing, or spam finding.
